Dr. Sloan treats a broad spectrum of problems including: Anxiety, Depression, Grief & Relationship issues, Family and Child Conflicts, Attention Deficit Disorders (ADD and ADHD), as well as trauma related symptoms. She often uses psychological testing to facilitate diagnosis and personality description. She offers supportive and practical intervention using a verity of therapeutic techniques, including cognitive and mindfulness approaches tailored to the clients strengths and individual needs. The goals are symptom reduction, personal growth, as well as discovering joy and wellness in their lives.

Dr. Sloan holds a Bachelors degree in psychology from Connecticut College. She worked as a research assistant at both Harvard and Tufts Medical Schools in Boston as well as the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut. She also spent time working with patients in the Veterans Administration Hospital. Her areas of research include personality development and sleep disorders.

She earned her Masters and Doctorial degrees in Clinical Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis. Her thesis was on personality traits of chronic insomniacs and her dissertation defined brain changes associated with sleep apnea. She completed a Post Doctorial Fellowship in computer applications in mental health and is perusing this interest by additional training in telemedicine and using the internet to provide therapeutic services to clients at home and in a specialized setting.
