Eighteen years ago Dr. Sloan and I decided to join forces by forming a professional partnership and move our young psychology practices from St. Charles out to Wentzville. Since 1995 my practice has grown with this community.
I am a clinical psychologist whose professional focus is psychological evaluations, individual psychotherapy, and couples therapy.
I specialize in:
Anxiety Disorders including Generalized Anxiety, Panic, and OCD
Depression Disorders including brief and chronic depression
My therapeutic orientation includes cognitive/behavioral, relationship systems, and psychodynamic understandings of human personality and behavior. My therapy technique is fairly active and conversational. Sometimes therapy is more teaching based if, for example, the focus of the counseling is anger management, self-regulation of anxiety states, communication skills, or parenting skills. Other times the therapy may be less focused and the interaction less structured. In that approach to therapy I ask questions which are intended to lead individuals to better understandings of themselves and to new solutions in their lives.
